Ubisoft has confirmed that the Ray Tracing feature on their upcoming gaming  Far Cry 6 is only available on PC. This comment has been told to Techradar by a Ubisoft developer. Techradar reached the developer after a Ubisoft 3D Team Lead Programmer told Wccftech that the Ray Tracing is exclusive for PC gaming only. Apart from Nvidia’s Ray Tracing, we also get the AMD FediletyFX Super Resolution on the PC.

The developer mentioned the reason saying that they are looking to take advantage of the next-gen consoles. They are trying to optimize the performance for 4K at 60FPS with the previous generation consoles having the same experience. Until the release of Xbox Series X and PS5 ray tracing feature was only available to PC users only. Now, after these next-gen consoles, much latest gaming has Ray tracing in PS5 and Xbox Series X but not Far Cry 6.

The developer to Techradar mentions that next-gen consoles don’t have the hardware support to have a perfect Ray Tracing as it has been hyped. And achieving a 4K at 60FPS using the Ray Tracing will be a challenging task for the hardware present in the next-gen consoles. Sony’s Insomniac games are the only developer to use the RRayTracing on the next-gen consoles while upscaling to 4K at smooth 60 FPS. Ubisoft being a triple-A games developer, should also find a way to achieve this as its competitors.

Some standard features will be available on both the PC and gaming consoles. Some of these features include LODs, draw distances, better ocean simulation, and HD textures.

So, that’s been it. Thank you for reading, and do share the article if you get a bit piece of information. Also, keep an eye on this space for more relevant updates. Stay safe, and we hope to see you around.
