As Niantic decided to make changes in pandemic-related bonuses of Pokemon GO, the company announced its new update plans. The pandemic-related bonuses are already undergoing changes. Meanwhile, we heard about the situation of fans’ outcry. They wrote a letter to Niantic, and the company later responded to the letter so positively. It is an ongoing situation, and Niantic issued an update stating it’ll be regulating bonuses worldwide. Some bonuses have been removed from the US and New Zealand, some bonuses have been added for all other regions.

After fans’ outcry in early August due to changes made by Niantic, the company reverted the changes. Niantic also promised an internal task force would review further changes. They said they’ll do discussions within the team and with community leaders out there to bring the best to players.

The task force completed its job now, and the outcome is to standardize the bonuses across the countries.

Trainers,
As a result of our recent task force discussions, we will be replacing the two current sets of region-based bonuses with one set of global bonuses at the start of the Season of Mischief.

The changes include that the players in the US and Newzealand will lose two of its bonuses, such as 10 times the PokéStop Spin XP and free two Raid Passes daily.

Bonuses no longer in effect:
10× XP for spinning PokéStops for the first time
Up to two free Raid passes per day by spinning Gym Photo Discs

Niantic made some new bonuses available for all the regions. Such as 3 times the PokéStop Spin XP and doubled the Lure duration.

During the Season of Mischief, Trainers in the United States and New Zealand will see the following bonus updates.
New bonuses:
3× bonus XP for spinning PokéStops for the first time
2× Lure duration

Niantic is continuing the remaining Pokemon GO bonuses such as:

  • Increased Incense effectiveness
  • Additional Incense effectiveness while walking
  • Boosted damage for Trainers battling remotely in raids
  • Guaranteed Gifts from PokéStop spins
  • Buddy Pokémon will bring you Gifts more often

Niantic is bringing these bonuses and continuing some perks like 80-meter Gym and PokéStop interaction distance to ensure the trainer’s safety as the new Delta variant hits across the countries. All the above changes will be effective from September 1, Season of Mischief. You can read more information related to Pokémon GO on their official blog.
