Apple removed its charger and Lightning headphones from its iPhone 12 box. Yeah, no one will get it as they mentioned in the streamed event on October 13. After the announcement, we’ve seen hundreds of memes and trolls that are going on social media.

Does Apple’s initiative really sound bad to them? The answer is YES for an instance. Consumers who are very new to Apple will have to buy it separately now. Also, the existing consumers are used to get a new one when they buy a new phone. Or some people like me think in a way to use the new accessories with the new phone.

Being a company like that with a massive number of consumers, some consumers feel good about it or some may not even like it. Either way, Apple should do it to make a change. Because only it can.

Apple plans to have a net-zero climate impact across their entire business by 2030. They build iPhone 12 removing harmful chemicals and using renewable and recyclable materials. Apple used 100% rare earth elements in all the magnets including camera, haptics, and MagSafe.

Apple believes that customers already have over 700 million Lightning headphones and over 2 billion Apple power adapters out in the world. So they are removing these items from the iPhone box. That reduces carbon emission and also reduces the size of the iPhone box.

Considering all the things together, they said they can cut over 2 million metric tons of carbon emissions annually. As a huge company like that, with a user base of over a billion consumers, this initiative can possibly make a big change. A big thanks to Apple for doing this and also a big thanks to consumers for being okay with missing accessories.

I hope to see all the companies do the same. According to Data Reportal, there are over 5.15 billion mobile users in the world. What if all those mobile manufacturing companies provide a customization option like “add a charger or not” in the purchase process. Users will choose if they want or they simply ignore it if they already have one. If that scenario takes place all over the world, how big will that change be?

So that’s it for now, Thanks for reading, and do share if you feel it informative. Also, keep an eye on this space to get relevant updates. Stay safe and hope we see you around.
