It’s COVID situation happening around, everyone is aware and no surprise in movie release delays. Disney’s move of change in release dates is expected as no movie theatres in the U.S are open. Black Widow release postponed as it is the earliest upcoming movie in the Phase 4 lineup. It is changed its date affecting no other MCU movie release dates but very few changes are made.
Black Widow was first announced to release in May 2020, Later the updated date was November 6, 2020. Now, the new date is May 7th, 2021; Making it delayed for a year.
2020 has now become the first year without a Marvel movie in theatres since 2009. This delay in Black Widow also affected a few more MCU movies in the Phase 4 lineup. Eternals was planned to release on February 12, 2021. But, its new release date is November 5, 2021. “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” was about to release on May 7, 2021; But now changed to July 9, 2021. “Eternals” was set to release before Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, but now it is coming after it. Things changed though.

Also, Disney lifts some titles and moves them to some new release dates, here they are:
- DEATH ON THE NILE previous date was October 23, 2020 moves to December 18, 2020
- THE EMPTY MAN previous date was December 4, 2020 moves to October 23, 2020
- DEEP WATER previous date was November 13, 2020 moves to August 13, 2021
- WEST SIDE STORY previous date was December 18, 2020 moves to December 10, 2021
- THE KING’S MAN previous date was February 26, 2021 moves to February 12, 2021
- UNTITLED DISNEY EVENT FILM previous date was July 9, 2021; is now removed from the schedule
- UNTITLED 20TH CENTURY FILM previous date was August 13, 2021; is now removed from the schedule
Wanda Vision
In all these postponed dates, Marvel brought up with a new trailer “Wanda Vision”, a Disney+ Exclusive. No release date is confirmed yet but it is expected to release in late 2020.
