Netflix viewership data on Most Popular / Top 10 Movies and Series is out. Extraction and Bird Box tops the list of most popular or most viewed movies. And Bridgerton Season 1 tops the list of most popular or most viewed TV series.
During the Code conference 2021, Netflix co-CEO and chief content officer Ted Sarandos shared the viewership data of some of the top titles on Netflix. It’s a rare move since the streaming giant never really opened or shared the viewership data publicly.
There were two slides shared while Ted was speaking on the Code stage with Kara Swisher. The first slide shows the number of accounts that viewed its top 10 films and series watched during the first 28 days on Netflix.
The Bridgerton Season 1 was most watched from 82 million Netflix accounts in the first 28 days on Netflix. Lupin Part 1 and The Witcher Season 1 took second and third place, with 76 million accounts having watched each. Extraction topped the list of movies with 99 million accounts watched, followed by Bird Box with 89 million and Spencer Confidential with 85 million.
The second slide shows the total number of view hours recorded on top titles of Netflix in their first 28 days. Bridgerton still led the top 10 series list with 625 million view hours watched. Money Heist Part 4 took second place with 619 million view hours, followed by Stranger Things 3 with 582 million view hours. In the movies, Bird Box led the top 10 list with 282 million view hours. Extraction took second place with 231 million view hours, followed by The Irish Man with 215 million view hours.
