WB announces its whole 2021 movie line-up to release on HBO Max

Godzilla vs. Kong, Dune, Tom & Jerry, WW84, Suicide Squad, and more in the 2021 line-up to release on HBO Max too.

WB to release entire 2021 line-up on HBO Max on the same day as theatres

Warner Bros. has taken a different approach to distribute its films in 2021. They announced that all the WB movies of 2021 would release in theatres and HBO Max on the same day. There is a prior announcement regarding Wonder Woman 1984 and its release in theatres and HBO Max on the same day. But WB is applying that to all of their upcoming movies in 2021. This means US-based people can watch all the WB’s most-awaited movies such as The Suicide Squad, Dune, Matrix 4, and more on Theatres and HBO Max on the exact same day. And also with no extra charge for existing HBO Max subscribers.

Warner Bros. announced the news stating it as a strategic response to the impact of the on-going pandemic situation.

“We’re living in unprecedented times which call for creative solutions, including this new initiative for the Warner Bros. Pictures Group. No one wants films back on the big screen more than we do. We know new content is the lifeblood of theatrical exhibition, but we have to balance this with the reality that most theaters in the U.S. will likely operate at reduced capacity throughout 2021.”

– Ann Sarnoff, CEO, Warner Bros.
