Vodafone and Idea re-branded as “Vi” for a new future together ahead after Supreme Court gave a relief to the Indian telcos on September 1. SC allowed telcos ten years of staggering payments. The Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) issue has pushed telcos under pressure, mainly the Vodafone Idea. It’s AGR dues are calculated to be more than RS. 58000 crores. It has paid 7850 crores till now. Whereas Airtel has a total of Rs 36000 crores of due, and it has paid almost 40%, having an outstanding balance of Rs 21600 crores as of now.

Considering Airtel’s asset values and it’s subscriber base with the highest ARPU in the market. It can recover from it is now capable of recovering from its dues. But Vodafone Idea’s situation is so different from losing subscribers and ARPU (Average Revenue Per User). It alone can’t clear pending dues of more than 50000 crores. It has to infuse some money through strategic partnerships and also have to increase its subscriber base and ARPU.

On Monday (Septemeber 7), Vodafone Idea has scheduled a webcast at 11:45 AM. On the previous day, Vodafone tweeted as

Hi @Idea, ready for the big day?

Later, Idea responded as “Yes. Just can’t wait“. This shows up the confidence in that company that they can stand up again in the market. Idea investors are also happy from the past few days as the stock price jumped from 9’s to 13’s.

In the webcast, Vodafone Idea teased its new logo and theme. The press release said,

Vodafone and Idea Brands are now “Vi”

This move can be considered as the strategy to gain the lost subscribers with their “everything new” theme. You can see the old to new logo comparison in the featured image above. But, here is the logo presentation they released.

Good to see the new look. Also, they’re planning to have a world-class network with the largest spectrum portfolio, huge capacities, and built-in 5G ready technologies. All the telcos are waiting for the spectrum for 5G trials, and Vi is not in the back. India is a hugely populated country and still at the stage to digitalize more. So, it is a good chance for Vi to stand out with its strategies. Let’s hope it will do good and make a better place in the telco market share.

Fill out the details and watch the presentation. Also, in the surprises tab, there are two QR codes that take you to VIL Camera filter with Logo and Vi tunes where you can compose and download the tunes with your mobile number or other combinations. Check them out.
