Niantic is bringing yet another Community Day for March 2022 to Pokemon GO. The March Community Day features Sandshrew and Alolan Sandshrew, the Mouse Pokémon, both simultaneously. It’s an excellent chance for trainers to catch Shiny versions of both of them as the chances are high on a Community Day. They can also evolve to learn the event-exclusive moves and take advantage of in-game bonuses. So for you to get things ready, here is everything you need to know.
Date + Time
Sunday, March 13, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM [local time].
It is a six-hour time frame. But, you can still get an exclusive move with evolution until up to two hours afterward, that is 7:00 PM [local time].
Featured Pokémon
The Ground-type Pokémon Sandshew and the Ice and Steel-type Pokémon Alolan Sandshrew are the featured Pokémon of March Community Day 2022. Sandshrew and Alolan Sandshrew will appear more frequently in the wild during the event. If you’re lucky, you may get a chance to encounter a Shiny Sandshrew ✨ and/or Shiny Alolan Sandshrew ✨. It’s an excellent opportunity for trainers to catch better and/or Shiny versions of both.
Exclusive Move
If you evolve Sandshrew into Sandslash in the event time or up to two hours afterward, the Pokémon evolves knowing the Ultimate Charged Dark-type Exclusive Move – Night Slash.
If you evolve Alolan Sandshrew into Alolan Sandslash in the event time or up to two hours afterward, the Pokémon evolves knowing the Ultimate Charged Ghost-type Exclusive Move – Shadow Claw.

Pokémon GO Sandshrew Community Day Special Research
On this month’s Community Day, Niantic offers an event-exclusive special research story called “Gritty and Glacial”. Access to this special research story will be available in the in-game shop for US$1.
Other Bonuses
In addition to Sandshrew’s frequent encounters, Niantic will be bringing a few more bonuses too.
- 1/4 Egg Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed in an Incubator during the event period.
- A giveaway of 30 Ultra Balls in the shop for free. Be sure to take it.
- The Incense used during the event will remain active for three hours rather than the usual one hour.
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.
Additionally, there’ll be a one-time purchase of the Community Day Box available for 1,280 PokéCoins. That includes 30 Ultra Balls, 3 Super Incubators, 5 Lucky Eggs, and an Elite Charged TM.
