Earlier there were rumors about the upcoming iPhone SE 3 (2022). Now another rumor suggests that the previous leaks are not true. The earlier leaks suggest that the upcoming iPhone SE 3 (2022) will be having the design of the iPhone XR. But it seems Apple will still be using the same iPhone SE 2 (2020) design for the 3rd model.
The rumor about having an iPhone SE 3 (2022) with an iPhone XR body has been postponed by Apple. This phone with no physical fingerprint might be available in iPhone 14 or maybe 15. Apple will not be updating the physical design but will update the internal specifications.
Apple will provide iPhone SE 3 with a 5G connectivity and last year’s Bionic chipset. In a tweet by Dylan states, he mentions that Apple looks to continue with the iPhone SE (2020) model design. The iPhone SE with XR/11 design is postponed till 2024. Another source says FaceID on the iPhone SE is going to be a no. Thanks to the inbuilt fingerprint sensor on the power button like on the iPad Air.
There may be a chance of Apple using the iPhone 11 design in the 2024 iPhone SE. The reason behind it is due to the low sales of the mini phone. Apple with the iPhone 12 has launched the mini that is a compact phone with the latest features. Though the phone at launch seemed like a reasonable compact phone ever but the model saw very low sales. Due to these low sales, it seems Apple is going to discontinue the mini phone with the iPhone 14 launch this year. And this year might be the year where the notch finally disappears in the iPhone series.
