In a recent announcement, Apple unveiled its highly anticipated product, Vision Pro, accompanied by a groundbreaking authentication technology called Optic ID. The new device, priced at $3,500, promises an unparalleled user experience with its advanced features and capabilities. One notable addition to the Vision Pro is the introduction of Guest Mode, a feature designed to allow multiple users to interact with a single device registered to someone else.

With Guest Mode, families and friends can now share the Vision Pro without compromising the owner’s personal data. Moreover, device owners have the flexibility to enable or disable Guest Mode and can even set up a password for restricted access to specific apps and settings, all without the need for Optic ID authentication.

The recently released visionOS SDK has revealed further insights into the platform, including the ability of Optic ID to secure hidden and deleted photos, much like the acclaimed Touch ID and Face ID functionality found in iPhones. Apple has also addressed the needs of users with prescription lenses, as Optic ID will require multiple iris scans to ensure accurate authentication, mirroring the challenges encountered with Face ID and glasses or masks.

To empower developers in creating innovative applications for Vision Pro, Apple has made the visionOS SDK available for download through the Apple Developer website. Starting next month, developers will have the opportunity to apply for a Vision Pro developer kit, and Apple plans to establish labs in key cities such as Cupertino, London, Munich, Shanghai, Singapore, and Tokyo. These labs will offer developers an exclusive opportunity to test their apps on the Apple Vision Pro before its official release, expected to hit stores in early 2024.

While the specifics you mentioned about Apple Vision Pro and its features may not align with current information, it is important to stay informed by referring to official announcements, Apple’s website, and reputable news sources to obtain the most accurate and up-to-date details regarding Apple’s product offerings.
