Samsung has once again raised the bar with the launch of its latest Galaxy S23 series. The series, consisting of the Galaxy S23, the S23+, and the S23 Ultra, promises to bring a new level of innovation and performance to the world of mobile technology. With a focus on enhanced low-light photography and the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform, these phones are set to take the market by storm.

Galaxy S23 Ultra

The Galaxy S23 Ultra is the latest addition to the premium Galaxy S series and is packed with impressive features. The primary highlight of the phone is its 200MP Adaptive Pixel main camera, a first for a Samsung phone. The camera supports AI-powered image signal processing (ISP) algorithms, providing detailed and color-accurate results, especially in low-light conditions. Additionally, it has a 12MP ultra-wide lens, a 10MP telephoto lens with up to 3x optical zoom, and another 10MP telephoto lens with up to 10x optical zoom.

The phone runs on the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform, ensuring a 30% improvement in CPU performance, 41% improvement in GPU performance, and 49% improvement in NPU performance. The Galaxy S23 Ultra is equipped with up to 12GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, and it also comes with a 6.8-inch QHD+ Edge Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with up to 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is protected by the latest Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and has a 5,000mAh battery with a 45W adaptor and wireless charging support.

Galaxy S23+ and S23

The Galaxy S23+ and S23 are the mid-range and entry-level offerings in the Galaxy S23 series. The Galaxy S23+ features a 6.6-inch Full HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz variable refresh rate, while the Galaxy S23 has a 6.1-inch Full HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Both phones are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy SoC, coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The Galaxy S23+ and S23 are backed by 4,700mAh and 3,900mAh batteries, respectively, with the Plus model supporting a 45W adaptor and the standard model supporting a 25W one.

Price and availability

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra starts at $1,199, the Galaxy S23+ begins at $999, and the Galaxy S23 starts at $799. The phones will be available in the US starting February 17 and come in Phantom Black, Cream, Green, and Lavender colorways. Samsung has promised four years of software updates and five years of security updates for the Galaxy S23 series.
