Well, we all saw the rumor on how Apple is planning to replace iPhones with AR (Augmented Reality) headsets. There has been no official confirmation from Apple about working on such a plan until now. But before that, we have got another leak about the Apple AR headset that says it will use a 96W power adapter to charge. That is equal to the power adapter used for the MacBook Pro.
According to Ming-Chi Kuo via Macrumors, the headset will be equally powerful as the MacBook Pro. That is the reason we need such a big adapter for the device. Apart from the power adapter, the AR headset will have two processors inside. One will be a 5nm processor and another 4nm processor. One of the processors will be computing equal to the M1 chipset, and the other one is for controlling all the sensors on the headset.
This might be another reason to have a 96W power adaptor. He further adds that the headset will have the capability to support VR (Virtual Reality). The headset will get the option to switch seamlessly between both VR and AR modes based on the user requirements. The headset will feature two Sony 4K micro-LED displays inside. Kuo mentions that the AR headset by Apple will be way ahead of the present competitors in terms of computing power.
Previously he also mentioned that the AR Headset would feature a powerful 3D sensor present in iPhones. The AR headset will have motion detection and gesture support and weigh around 350 grams. According to Kuo, the device will be out in the fourth quarter of 2022.
