Nokia’s recent arrivals include TVs. It is now to launch its 4K Android TV set-top-box in Europe called ‘Nokia Streaming Box 8000’.

In India, Nokia has already been selling an Android TV box with Chromecast built-in and also with a dedicated compact remote controller. They’re calling it Nokia Media Streamer, they’re selling it via Flipkart for Rs. 2799 (around €30). But for Europe, they’re about to bring a 4K Android TV with a full-size (with number pad) remote controller. It costs €100.

Streamview is the one who manufacturing these products, the website‘s copyright note reads “StreamView is a licensee of the Nokia brand for TVs, Set-Top-Boxes and DAB radios. Nokia is a registered trademark of Nokia Corporation”. It thus shows that Streamview is using the name of Nokia to sell its products; and Nokia is happy about that. This is not the first time, and Streamview is not the first company to use Nokia’s name. Flipkart in India is doing the same by selling Android TV boxes and Nokia branded TVs.

In this way, both companies gain. Device makers, gain consumer trust for using such a brand valued company name. And Nokia gains its place in every segment they release the products; Also the money for the license.

So the worth mention is, HMD Global, which holds the license of Nokia to sell smartphones, is not involved in any way with the Streaming Box 8000. Or in any other products that Flipkart sells.

Let’s talk Specs
