OnePlus recently announced its upcoming launch on June 10th. This summer launch event will have some new products from OnePlus. OnePlus last year has launched its budget smartphone, the OnePlus Nord. OnePlus Nord, after release, has got a lot of mixed reviews, but that didn’t affect the sales of the phone. The phone offered some great specs for the price with some cut downs. Now OnePlus is looking to cash this with another phone in the Nord series, the OnePlus Nord CE 5G.
Although OnePlus has released OnePlus Nord N10 and N100, they were limited to only the European region. OnePlus plans to launch the phone globally (no word on availability in the USA). There were some leaks about OnePlus working on a new Nord phone, but it was still a secret, unlike them. OnePlus even mistakenly mentioned the OnePlus Nord 2 on their official website.
Now the news is official; we will see another phone from the Nord lineup called OnePlus Nord CE 5G. This means that OnePlus wants to continue in the mid-range segment. There is no word on the specifications, which is so unlike OnePlus that does a lot of marketing for their upcoming products. According to the leaks, the Nord CE 5G will be housing a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 5G chipset released earlier this year.
The main moto for the Nord series is to provide flagship-level performance at an affordable price. The first phone was almost there in defining the moto with the design and implementation. Let’s hope to see how OnePlus will bring this phone based on the previous reviews.
If you are wondering what CE stands for, it is called Core Edition. Earlier this year, after the launch of the Snapdragon 870 which is a overclocked chipset of last year’s flagship Snapdragon 865, some thought OnePlus might use this processor in their Nord series. But OnePlus has got other plans, and we got to see the OnePlus 9R with the Snapdragon 870 chipset.
