Facebook Gaming launched a cloud gaming service on Monday. It is not likely to be a console replacement gaming service (yet). They’re offering mobile games as a beta. As they do not depend on latency as much as console games, they’re good to offer for now. This is not what we expect but they say it differently.

1. We’re not going to overpromise and under-deliver

2. We’re not trying to replace your favorite gaming hardware

3. We’re going to start with what we do best, and expand from there

Got it? Facebook wants to start it here, with less latency dependant games to deliver the best experience. And later they would like to expand it in the same way (delivering with zero end-user issues). As we are growing from generation to generation with higher and even higher network speeds; Facebook expands its services matching these to provide their fullest to an average end-user. At least they have to. Also, not replacing any gaming hardware that gives a better heavy-gaming experience. This kind of stuff is like under-control and reliable too.

Cloud gaming is about expanding the types of games we already offer, so we’ll start with the format people enjoy playing on Facebook: free-to-play games.

That’s one of the reasons why we’re starting with games typically played on mobile devices.

– Jason Rubin, VP of Play, Facebook.

The first set of games available this week include Asphalt 9: Legends by Gameloft; Mobile Legends: Adventure by Moonton; PGA TOUR Golf Shootout by Concrete Software, Inc.; Solitaire: Arthur’s Tale by Qublix Games; and WWE SuperCard by 2K.

Not for iOS yet

As Facebook is still in a quarrel with Apple, also Apple is in the first place to reject these kinds of services; Facebook Gaming can not be able to launch cloud gaming services for iOS devices currently. They said even the launch of apps according to Apple’s cloud games policy is also not possible. So, the internet is always open and the browser could be the possible way to bring their services to iOS users. Until they’re working, Android is the only way to play. Here is the Cloud Gaming article posted by Facebook Gaming.

So that’s it for now. Thank you for reading and do share if you feel the article is informative. Also, keep an eye on this space to get relevant updates. Stay safe and hope we see you around.
