Hey Techies, After seeing the title “BBK Electronics is bigger than Xiaomi in India“, you might be thinking who is this BBK Electronics, isn’t it? Don’t Scratch your brains well it is a Chinese Based Multinational Company firm specializing in electronics such as television sets, MP3 players, digital cameras and smartphones. Well did I say smartphone? Yes, I did.

For all those who don’t know about it lets check out now. Until the Smartphone giant Xiaomi entering into the Indian market Samsung was the king, but due to Xiaomi’s aggressive pricing and features at the price point has created a huge market for the Xiaomi in India. Now that Xiaomi has captured the first place in the Indian market it seems that Xiaomi is the King of the smartphone market in India, well the market share for Q2 2019 says that all.

Market Shares in India

Then why did I say BBK is bigger, Now coming to that point BBK Electronics has subsidiaries in the Indian smartphone market and when the shares of them are added together it is bigger than Xiaomi and Samsung.

The Subsidiaries are Oppo, Vivo, Oneplus and Realme. These companies have entered slowly into the Indian Smartphone targeting different audiences.

The Oppo is the first smartphone brand to come from the giant company in 2001 and was globally registered in 2004. This is most familiar to us because it was the title sponsor for the Indian team jersey. Then was Vivo from the company which was founded in 2009. Both the Oppo and Vivo had a huge impact because of its aggressive advertising from both in the offline stores and hoardings. Vivo was also the title sponsor for IPL.

The Oneplus was the next to come out of the giant company in the year 2013, this smartphone only makes the premium mobile phones using the flagship processor. This company is also famous for its Oxygen OS which resembles the original Andriod and was at an affordable price. All these companies had their field of the audience to target. But Xiaomi was far way ahead of all these with budget-friendly mobiles to target these audiences Realme was introduced.

Realme was initially called Oppo Real in china and later had become Realme. This company’s first phone in India was launched in May 2018 with very aggressive pricing and has received a huge positive response from the Indian smartphone users.

When we add all the shares of these subsidiaries then BBK Electronics is ahead of Xiaomi in India making it the real giant behind the smartphone market in India.
