But it wasn’t and was eventually postponed, thanks to several reasons. Another rumor came up saying its official launch will take place on September 8, and that’s crossed too. Folks at FPT suggested that the launch will take place in late October. Recent Google Play listings and other leaks almost confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE launch is imminent. And finally, the story is going to an end as some reports claim that the Samsung S21 FE is canceled.
Most of the headlines and articles suggested that the launch of the Galaxy S21 FE is postponed due to a global chip shortage. And the very same reason is seen in a lot of reports that say Samsung S21 FE is canceled. However, there is no official confirmation from Samsung. The company never talked about its affordable flagship before; well, its official/accidental leak on its Instagram is an exception.
Here’s why
According to South Korean publication DDaily, Samsung has canceled the Galaxy Unpacked October 2021 event, where the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE launch was meant to occur. The reason could be the surprising sales of Galaxy Z Flip 3.
The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is already selling with Snapdragon 888, and the Galaxy S21 FE is expected to use the same chip. The uncertainty of the global ship shortage might be pushing Samsung to take a decision to cut down a smartphone. The choices are – Galaxy Z Flip, which is already selling surprisingly well, and the proof of Samsung’s Technological advancements; And Galaxy S21 FE, which is lighter and affordable Samsung flagship. I don’t think it’s a tough decision for Samsung considering ship shortage is the primary concern.
However, as nothing is confirmed yet, we just have to wait to see Samsung’s further plan. If Galaxy S21 FE is yet to come, we may hear soon; else, it may fade out with no press or information from the company. Let’s hope for the best.
