Amazon brings Watch Party in Prime Video to India where you can watch with up to 100 members. This feature is already available in the US and is now been brought to India. This will make Amazon Prime the first biggest streaming platform in India with the feature on its own. The feature is now only available only on web browsers which don’t include Safari and IE.
To use this feature you need to have an Amazon Prime membership and the person to watch also requires one. In India, Amazon Prime Membership starts at Rs. 129 per month or Rs. 999 per year. The person who hosts the party will be the one with all the controls of the video or show. The Watch Party in the Amazon Prime Video also brings up a chat feature for the members to communicate with each other while watching the party.
Amazon isn’t the first to bring a feature “Watch Party” for a social viewing experience. Facebook already has this feature on its platform. Then there is a third-party application like Teleparty previously known as Netflixparty. That third party app offers a similar feature on Netflix, Hulu, and HBO. This Watch Party feature by Amazon is not available on Android or iOS app and doesn’t even support on Fire TV stick.
How to use the “Watch Party” Feature?
Just follow the below steps to use the feature:
- Open primevideo.com in any browser except Safari and IE.
- Log in with your Amazon Prime Membership account.
- Find or search for your title and open the page of the title.
- You will find a Watch Party feature button. Click on that.
- Now you have to enter your name and click on the create Watch Party button.
- That’s it you have hosted a Watch Party now you will have a link that you can share with friends to join the party.
Remember the person who joins the party should also have a Prime Account to join the Watch Party. The synchronization will be taken care of by Amazon.
