Samsung Exynos System on Chip(SoC) is an ARM-based SoC by Samsung Electronics System LSI division and Samsung Electronics Foundry division. Samsung on October 9 announced it’s new Flagship Processor Exynos 1080, yes the number seems to be quite familiar.

This announcement was made by the South Korean R&D Department, they have also added that the current score of Exynos 1080 SoC in the AnTuTu test application has exceeded 650000 points. After optimization, they are expecting still a better number. Right now in Android Segment, the score of 615289 points is the table topper by ASUS ROG Phone3 having by Snapdragon 865 plus 5G. After suitable optimizations to the chipset, there is no doubt it can create a new record in test score points.

The new Exynos 1080 SoC is going to use a 5nm manufacturing process. It uses CortexA78 processor Core as well as Mali GPU. CortexA78 can go up to 3.0GHz and uses the ARMv8-A instruction set. At 1watt/core power consumption CortexA78(3.0GHz) gives 20% more performance than CortexA77(2.6GHz) and also provides 50% energy saver over its Predecessor. It also occupies less space when used in the Octa-core configuration providing more space for the GPU/cooling system.

Vivo X60 is might be the first Phone with this SoC.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 875:

We also know that Samsung is going to make the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 according to the reports of sammobile. This means Samsung has got all the powerful SoCs being powered in the upcoming year. As Samsung is designing their next chip on 5nm we can even expect the same with Snapdragon 875.

Next year we are going to have real competition from both the processor being manufactured by the same company.

So that’s it for now, Thank you for reading and please do share the article within your circles if you loved reading it. Also, keep an eye on this space to get relevant updates.
