Microsoft is trying out a new feature that would help in making Edge a more reliable browser than Chrome. Google Chrome is such a browser that it also provides fun when there is no internet. It has an inbuilt dinosaur game that many play while they are bored and has no internet. Microsoft is trying so hard to beat out Google Chrome in the browser race and it also included an offline surf game just like the dinosaur game in Chrome. Now Microsoft is planning to add a new panel for games in the Edge browser.

This feature was spotted in the Edge Canary version that is only available for selected members. The news was reported by Leopeva64-2 through Reddit with some screenshots of how it would look like. According to him, this new panel is not turned on by default. Users who are willing to use this panel will need to go to settings in the Edge browser to enable it. The exact path to enable the panel is Settings-> Appearance-> Games. After enabling the panel you will get a joystick icon near the URL bar on the top.

If you click on the icon you will get the overlay of the in-browser games panel. This overlay will not be disturbing your content in the browser rather it will just be on the side as shown in the picture below. At present, the only games that are supported by the in-browser games panel are the basic HTML5 games. These games include Chess, Microsoft Solitaire, Microsoft Sudoko, Merge Fruit, Microsoft Jewels, 8 Ball Billards Classic, and other HTML5 based games.

Microsoft is yet to release this new feature to the beta testers before releasing it to the public stable version. There are chances that this feature might not be coming to the stable version also.

So, that’s been it. Thank you for reading, and do share the article if you get a bit piece of information. Also, keep an eye on this space for more relevant updates. Stay safe, and we hope to see you around.
